The eldest male member is assigned to perform mantravada chiefly but other male members also do it with the guidance from the chief. Mantra rites bear desired results only when done by an ‘upasak’ (a man) with ‘tapasakti’, (intense power generated by meditation of mantras’ knowledge, with an exactitude and adhering to the time tested heritages. ‘Mantravadam’ (defi) is an act of purification. Mantras are the basics of all kinds of poojas, worships and mantravadas. Acquiring such knowledge is not easy as it is not in schools or elsewhere. This will be done with such a scholarly person who is well versed in mantras. The process of making a man who is worthy and deserving into the path of mantras is known as ‘Initiation into Mantra’. Suryakalady Bhattathiripad is capable of granting such a boon to aspiring people. Initiation into mantras will be done by the chief. They are the first and final protectors of a family, yielding shelters and caging them from all dangers. It is they who aid come out with solutions. From time immemorial, Lord Surya, Mahaganapathi and Sree chachakra have been the upasanamoorthees of SuryaKaladiMana. The family members have been worshipping these deities with extreme devotion and commitment.
Mahganapathi
Lord Ganesha, the elephant deits riding a mouse is a common yet popular concept associated with hinduism. Lord of success and destroyer of obstacles and eirls, he is also worshipped as the God of education knowledge, wisdom or wealth. He is the Personification of material universe in all its various magnificent manifestations. Any thing starts with him and he is the meeting ground of Hinduism and its religious rites.
In Suryakaladi mana, the vision of Mahaganapathi is a tri-juncture of Siva, Vaishnava and Sakteya traditions. Vibhoothi Devi, the wife of Maha Ganapathy is seen sitting on lord’s lap. Vibhoothi Devi, is none other than the chaithanya of Lakshmi Devi. At Suryakaladimana, Ganapathi Homam (Haven) is conducted in front of the lord everyday for centuries without fail. it is the unique feature of this mana that Maha Ganapathi is situated at the centre of Sun God (Surya Mandala Madyastham) and hence here Ganapathi Homam can be performed only after sunrisewhere as same is performed before sunrise everywhere.
Surya
Surya the only visible form of god that can be seen every day. He is the lord of excellence and wisdom. He is the literal source of life and it is believed that surya has been worshipped since ages to receive the kind blessings of God. Lord surya is the other powerful deity worshipped by the members of mana. Contrary to ordinary practice, he is worshipped as Goddess Gayatri Devi, and as the sun God is omnipresent the worship is done without any idols. Mana has the presence of Lord Surya throughout the day enabling them to perform the astrological measures(Jyotsyam) even at midnight unhindered by the time factor.
Sreechakra
Yantra in Mantra sastra (science of mantra) have played pivotal role in magnetizing divine power and yielding superhuman results. They are tantric drawing possessing to attract godly powers to their proximity.
Sreechakra is the Lord of all such Yantras. One who seeks the possibilities of this yantra is sure to come out with unbelievable capabilities. Deeksha & Adhideeksha

‘Sthanarohanam as Karanavar’
‘Karnavar’ is the eldest male member of the family. ‘Sthanarohanam’ is the ritual through which he gets the sovereignty of all mantras and poojas.These are coveyed to him by the preceptor so thst the tourch of knowledge and practice are continued endlessly. Such a condition is motivated by by a strange and happy coi‘Karnavar’ ncidence of mana and another section of society. There is a particular group named ‘velam’ . It is customery to them that they conduct their own primitive types of poojas in their so called temples called Kalaris.Then they reach the mana and request the Karnavar to protect the society from all types of evils .Having decorated themselves in the customary style they reach the mana singing and dancing.this situation is a happy confluence of the totally different layers of society which meet and mingle with no restrictions of the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’.It also is a brilliant examples of the acceptance of this society for the superhuman power of the SuryaKalady members to enrich and protect this society.
